How it all started
Five miles down a gravel road, surrounded by the hum of nature, fields of prairie, and sunshine, you’ll find Wold Farm.
The farm has been in our family since 1854, and we’re so grateful to continue the legacy of Wold Farm with our little family. While neither my husband nor I are farmers, I am an artist, photographer, and creative dreamer and excited to make, share, and document memories on these rolling hills — with a contemporary twist! We look forward to welcoming visitors and clients to our new space on our old farm. A vintage grain bin that once stored corn for Grandpa Don has been reinvented into a luxury retreat and light-filled space for me to meet photography clients, too!
When we moved onto the family farm in 2013, a dream was born. Very early on, I began sketching up ideas to renovate the grain bins into cabins, but it wasn’t until a few years ago I found the courage to take the leap. With the help and encouragement from friends and family, I decided to begin my dream project!
Seeing another amazing grain bin project underway in northeast Iowa, I reached out to the owner, Chris Juran, who owns his own contracting business called Homeworks out of Guttenberg, IA. We hit it off instantly with our big crazy ideas, and he agreed to take on the task and bring my vision to life. Natural light fills the open-loft concept with gorgeous window trim and the shiplap ceiling of my dreams!
I reached out to our neighbor, Gerald Funk of Funk Construction and Woodworking, who worked with Chris to complete a custom loft railing, beautiful barn doors, a custom curved handrail, and a custom live-edge countertop made out of a beautiful ash slab from my friends at Grau Logs and Lumber in Elkader, IA.
This was a year of growth, faith, and perseverance, and I’m so incredibly grateful for the support along the way, for each of my clients through the years who’ve helped support my little family, and for every person and business who helped bring this vision to life! I couldn’t have done it without you ALL, and I’m so excited to share this space and the beauty of Wold Farm for years to come!
And the rest is history.
I look forward to welcoming you to Wold Farm —
A place to rest and explore in the rural Midwest.
